Our Party and our movement must be rooted in our communities. We are facing vitally important local elections next May, and every year up until the next General Election.
We will be there to guide you through the process if you decide to stand – and support your work as a Councillor if you get elected.
To find out more about how you can serve your community and fight for a better future, visit our training hub on becoming a councillor.
More than 100 years ago the Labour Party was founded by the people who kept our country going, but whose work was underpaid and undervalued.
The workers and trade unions who founded our party did so to give working class people a voice, win power and change society for the better.
They weren’t called it then, but they were the key workers of their day.
These workers have always been the backbone of our communities and have always been at the heart of our movement to build a better, fairer Britain.
If you are one of our members who has been working on the frontline and helping us to get through this pandemic, we need you to be on the frontline of our campaigns as we fight to change society for the better.
Key workers have put their lives on the line during this crisis and they’ve kept our country and our communities going. This crisis has shown who the key workers really are. Now we need you to help our communities recover and rebuild.
Will you consider standing as a Labour councillor?
We have training and information for key workers who are interested, including online training sessions and downloadable guides to the process.
